Tafsir Surah Al-Mu'minun - 46

ثم ارسلنا موسى واخاه هارون باياتنا وسلطان مبين ٤٥ الى فرعون ومليه فاستكبروا وكانوا قوما عالين ٤٦ فقالوا انومن لبشرين مثلنا وقومهما لنا عابدون ٤٧

ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍ ٤٥ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَالِينَ ٤٦ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَـٰبِدُونَ ٤٧

They observed that the Prophet was not surrounded by heaps of wealth, nor was he seated upon a throne of power. So they considered him to be a lowly person. On account of their being worshippers of externals, they failed to fathom the Prophet’s inner greatness.
